Mooretown Natural Resources Department, including Tribal Forestry and Cultural Resources divisions, enjoyed many important milestones in 2024. We were pleased to host U.S. Congressmen Doug LaMalfa, newly elected Chairman of the Congressional Western Caucus, and Congressman GT Thompson, Chairman of the House Committee on Agriculture, at our facilities. Mooretown Chairman Ben Clark also met with several tribes in Nevada, where Mooretown is working with the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest and Nevada Congressman Mark Amodei. Mooretown received two grants this year to support operational capacity building and recovery from the North Fire Complex at the Feather Falls Tribal Cultural Landscape. The tribe also entered into the first stewardship agreement with the Bureau of Land Management in the history of California.
